  • Busy times!

    It's been a busy week in school. The proposal to convert the school to an age 4-11 primary school has featured highly on my agenda, with so many issues to be ironed out. The proposal has yet to go to a formal consultation, but it is crucial that the school secures the best possible outcomes as we look to the future. Children who are currently at the school, or due to transfer in 2015, will be unaffected by any potential changes.   • A new beginning

    Now that we are well into the new school year, it is wonderful to see how our latest Year 3 children have settled in school. Of particular delight, is the tremendous support shown by everyone for the introduction of a new school uniform. The children look fabulous and are a credit to themselves, parents and the school. During the summer break, considerable improvements were made to the fabric of the school, including a new outdoor canopy, a new boiler and the refurbishment of a section of the school.     As you will know, the Local Authority are proposing to convert the two infant schools and ourselves into full primary schools by September 2016. Under the current proposal, Leigh CE Junior School would suffer a large dip in numbers and not reach the proposed number on roll (315) until 2022. There would also have to be extensive structural alterations to the school buildings before completion.
